Normally Hans Heyson painted large landscapes, starring trees, pools of water and grazing cows. But I have never seen a close-up still life of small flowers by Heyson. They are lovely!!

This was a surprise to me too. Quite different to his landscape work. Many landscape painters seem to have tried their hand at the odd still life, but these works tend to be overlooked.
